3 Questions with Gresford Gray
We asked Gresford to respond to the following questions as a way for others to get to know him a little better.
What drew you to Coforma?
I was drawn to Coforma’s core values and mission. As I conducted my research, I found the case studies particularly illuminating. One, in particular, resonated with me—the significant role Coforma played in developing an IT solution for the Family Reunification Task Force, facilitating the assistance and reunion of children with their family members who were separated at the US-Mexico border. This demonstrates the company's commitment to impactful and meaningful work.
What hobbies keep you busy outside of work?
I’m self-studying Mandarin and Spanish, and I am a triathlete. Approximately ten years ago, I participated in an Ironman competition, which granted me bragging rights. It is the longest distance in the triathlon series, consisting of a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bike ride, and a marathon—a 26.2-mile run—at the end. Health is important to me, and the Ironman was a significant item to check off on my bucket list.
Additionally, I find pleasure in studying Egyptian hieroglyphs. I have always had a fascination with history. When we reached the Egyptian era in world history, I became highly intrigued by the original writing system and the methods of communication utilized by people during that time. I dedicate my time to studying whenever possible and aspire to visit Egypt to explore the tombs and decipher the ancient writings.
How do you see yourself contributing to Coforma’s vision?
Ensuring we have accurate and up-to-date information is my utmost priority so Coforma can continue designing digital services and products that contribute to the public good. Coforma has a wealth of valuable data, and the real challenge lies not in its quality or quantity.
We expect our data and information to help us validate that we’re congruent and morally aligned with our values. The true hurdle is acquiring the data in real-time and effectively synthesizing it for strategic decision-making.
As we continue to grow, it becomes imperative that we proactively anticipate future challenges. My unique value lies in my ability to develop scenarios with accurate and real-time data that enable us to plan for a successful future.
