VA Opts to Extend Digital Accessibility Work with Coforma

Our accessibility specialists will continue helping VA’s Office of the Chief Technology Officer create accessible products and practices within Veteran-Facing Service (VFS) teams.

We’re honored to share that the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Office of the Chief Technology Officer (OCTO) has officially exercised the final option year of Coforma’s VA Accessibility Digital Experience (VA ADE) contract.

As the agency’s first standalone, accessibility-focused contract team, VA ADE functions as a shared service supporting over 70 teams across OCTO. Expert practitioners work with these teams to equip them with the tools and knowledge needed to prioritize accessibility throughout their workflows. The goal is to continuously deliver high-quality digital experiences for the benefit of all Veterans and their families, regardless of their disability status.

“When we focus on accessibility, we’re enabling digital dignity,” shares Principal Accessibility Specialist and project team member Evan Burnett. "That’s the mindset we bring to this work, to help Veterans access accurate self-service benefits and data."

This work builds on our experience helping VA migrate, adapt, and develop content for the modernized VA.gov experience. We look forward to this new opportunity to extend our knowledge and positive impact on the Veteran community.
